This page describes the ShowCase Chess Board Choices and formats available at this time.
Two Chess Board Sizes
The Modern Physics Chess Sets are available in two sizes, Med-Small (20″x20″ board) and Med-Large (22″x22″ board), with five board materials; Brushed metal and MDF are available in Med-Small; and Bamboo, Acrylic and Brushed Metal Epoxy are available in Med-Large.
Every Modern Physics Chess Set comes with a booklet describing the lives and contributions of the Physicists pictured, as set in the context of all the discoveries illustrated on the boards.
To create you very own Relationship Chess Set, first select a Modern Physics Chess Set in one of the eight available choices, and then select the “Relationship Chess Set” as an add-on. Instructions for up-loading your photography and texts will be provided when we reach our funding goal. The selected board(s) will then be printed using your own images and quotes.

Five ShowCase Chess Board Choices
- (1) Brushed Metal. A unique, modern look for a light board.
Med-Large Brushed Metal Chess Set with production pieces. (Please note: the Kickstarter boards will not include “captured piece” areas.).
- (2) Acrylic. Splendid contrast and detail!
Acrylic printing is a fantastic medium for creating your stories in color!
- (3) MDF Wood Print. Scratch resistant; the wood texture shows through the light areas of the images.
- (4) Bamboo Wood Print. The bamboo print captures the images in great contrast.
Please note: The Bamboo Kickstarter boards are only available in limited quantities, in the Med-Large size (22″x22″ board) with no captured pieces area.
